About Us
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), established in 1983, is a renowned global resource hub for Entrepreneurship Education, research, policy advocacy, and institution building. Recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, it drives MSME-focused academic initiatives, research, and projects. Supported by apex financial institutions, EDII pioneered the first structured Post Graduate Programme in Entrepreneurship, impacting education and research. It hosts diverse departments, a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) called CrAdLE, and engages in international institution building, with centers established in nations like Cambodia, Vietnam, and Rwanda, backing entrepreneurship worldwide.
Area of Excellence
EDII pioneered the institutionalization of Entrepreneurship and impacted lives through Policy Advocacy, Education, Government-Corporate collaboration, Cluster Development and international engagement. Its beneficiaries span artisans, women, youth, weavers, and children, reflecting a diverse community.
Research Capability and Focus Area
EDII is acclaimed for its strong research ability and specialized focus on nurturing entrepreneurship. It established a Research Centre in 1997, bridging theory and practice in entrepreneurship through Centre for Research in Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CREED). This centre expands knowledge boundaries, reinforcing positive work approaches, and propelling the Entrepreneurship Development Movement with focused expertise.

EDI is equipped with the best red brick infrastructure, fully equipped with Wifi, computer labs, library, centrally air conditioned classrooms, mess, canteen, AC hostels, sports ground for outdoor sports, garden area, residential doctor.
