About Us
Jansons Institute of Technology(JIT) is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The institution is located at Karumathampatti, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and offers six Undergraduate Programmes, three PG Programmes and one research programme namely.
Jansons Institute of Technology was established in 2009 by Jansons Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of Rtn. MPHF T. S. Natarajan (Chairman), Mr. T. N. Kalaimani (Vice-Chairman) and Mr. T. N. Thirukumar (Vice-Chairman). JIT is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade, ISO 9001:2015 certified and recognised under section 2(f) of UGC act 1956. The institution is ranked in the band of 151 to 300 - NIRF Innovation Ranking 2023. The Institution’s Innovation Council is rated four stars consecutively in the academic year 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.
JIT is recognised as a Research Centre by Anna University for the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the year 2023 (for three years). The institution significantly contributes to the scientific community with numerous research publications in refereed journals and the current h - index of the institution is ‘24’.
JIT has received accolades for its green initiatives such as “One Student One Tree” recognition from AICTE in 2019, “Silver Band” in Green Rankings 2024 by R World Institutional Ranking and received “Green Campus Award '' from Tamil Nadu Science Forum in 2018.
JIT was recognised as “Distinguished Institution” by Vijyan Prasar for the institution's extension and outreach activities elevating science education in association with Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan in 2019. Also received appreciation from AICTE and Energy Swarag Foundation for active participation in Energy Literacy Drive in 2020 and 2023. NDLI Club of JIT is adjudged as one of the best performing clubs in 2023 by the Ministry of Education.
Area of Excellence
The institution primarily focuses in the areas of emerging technologies and excels in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Software & app development, Industrial IoT, 3D Printing, Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality, Solar Technology, Robotic Process Automation, UI/UX design for applications, CAD-CAM-CAE, MicroChip Design, Embedded Systems, Communication systems etc.
Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship commenced operations in 2022 with an area of earmarked 10,000 square feet. The incubation facility has coworking spaces, executive rooms, and board rooms for business activities. The institution is a Business Incubator (HI-BI) under "MSME Innovative Scheme for incubating startups.
The Institution’s Innovation Council of JIT is rated four stars, the highest rating for the 2021-2022 academic year, by the Ministry of Education. The MoE, Govt. of India has entitled JIT in the State Level Consortium of MoE’s IICs under the private/self-financed college.
