The journey of the university started with down town Charity Trust that established this institution in 2010 nestled in the scenic surroundings of Panikhaiti, Chandrapur, Guwahati. It had resolved to provide affordable quality education to the people of the North Eastern Region of India. Since then, this university has worked its ways to become a beacon of modern education and innovation.
he pioneering education provided at AdtU has expanded across the world as students as far as African countries like Zimbabwe, Kenya and neighbouring counties like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh among others have enrolled in this institution. Research Capability and Focus Area
Assam down town University (AdtU) has many research projects funded by national and international funding agencies/organizations. The funds are received from the government of India through (DBT, DST, ICMR, etc.,), besides, support from state government agencies and non-government institutions. AdtU offers competitive in-house seed money grants to faculty members and researchers including interested students that support and foster them to carry out projects. The seed research project supports the faculty members in formulating and conducting projects of various dimensions which also paves the way for designing bigger research programs to attract national and international funding.
The Directorate of Research (DoR) manages, facilitates, channelizes, records, and regulates the research activities and programs as per the mandated research policy of the University.
