About Us
Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India was established on 3rd November, 2009 under the Madhya Pradesh Pashuchikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 2009 (No. 16 of 2009) and Madhya Pradesh Veterinary Science University (Amendment) Act, 2012 (No. 32 of 2012). The university has three constituent Veterinary colleges located at Jabalpur, Mhow and Rewa; College of Fishery Science at Jabalpur, School of Wildlife Forensic & Health and Animal Biotechnology Centre at Jabalpur. The colleges today have a full complement of the state-of-the-art laboratories. The University offers undergraduate (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Bachelor of Fishery Science), postgraduate degree (Master of Veterinary Science, Master of Fishery Science, Master of Science (Animal Biotechnology) and Ph.D degree programmes. The colleges have well equipped smart classrooms. The Veterinary colleges also have Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) with well equipped diagnostics including a modern disease investigation laboratory and Livestock farms. In addition, colleges have hostels for students with unlimited Internet access.
Several research projects funded by national and international agencies are being successfully implemented. The research achievements of the scientists of the college have also been acclaimed the world over. Several faculty members have been awarded the reputed national and international awards for excellence in research apart from several fellowships and awards to the scientists instituted by various scientific societies. Students have also brought laurels to the college by excelling in national debate/elocution, quiz and essay competitions, and participation in national youth festivals. The university has expanded its research and academic initiatives through Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at national and international levels.
