This university facilitates and encourages studies and research in promising areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of Science & Technology, Engineering Studies, Environmental Studies, Media Studies, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Management Studies and also to achieve excellence in these and related fields. The University has emerged as a premier institute to inspire, motivate and nurture professional excellence. That’s why the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), has accredited this University as “A” Grade since 2002 on the basis of different criteria including curricular aspects, teaching & learning process, research & consultancy, infrastructure, students support, organization and management. Moreover, the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre of the University has also been accredited No.1 in the country. In addition, the University has been awarded grant for Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE) by Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi. The University has been ranked no.1 Technical University of Haryana by NIRF (2017). MHRD has also recognized this university by admitting in Global Initiative Academic Networks (GIAN) project, a prestigious scheme for significantly uplifting the quality of teaching learning process through participation of foreign faculty. The University is currently offering 51 regular graduate and post-graduate courses in different streams of M.Tech., M.Sc., M.Pharm., MBA, MCA, MPT, B.Tech., B.Pharm., BPT, etc. besides 16 professional courses in various disciplines through distance mode. The University also offers intensified research programmes leading to award of the degree of Doctorate of Philosophy in all Departments. Excellent Laboratory & infrastructural facilities are available to run all these courses. Few innovative schemes have been initiated for girl child in promoting education. The University is financially supported by State Govt., UGC, AICTE, DST, DBT, BRNS-DAE, etc. under various schemes besides generating its own resources through fees, consultancy, etc. This year the University has received highest grants in Haryana State from RUSA, MHRD. The academic programmes are not only bench-marked against international norms and standards but are also periodically revised as per the industry’s requirements. The vibrant and skilled faculty of the University possesses passion for teaching and shaping career of students by providing individual attention for enhancing their ability to acquire and apply knowledge. While striving to make significant contribution to professional education, consultancy and research, the University is committed to make meaningful contribution to the larger interest of society with a clear focus on the present day needs of the market and aspirations of individuals.
Area of Excellence
The university is thrice been funded by TEQIP Scheme by World Bank, Board Of Research In Nuclear Science (Department of Atomic Energy) and other agencies like MHRD, MHFW, Ministry of Defence (DRDO), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, National Board for Higher Mathematics, Distance Education Council, Ministry of Women and Child Welfare, Department of Scheduled Castes, Haryana. Further, International collaborative project includes sponsorships by DRDO, DST, Govt of India and Ministry of Science & Technology, Thailand which is currently implemented by this university jointly with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. The MoU with INFLIBNET for electronic dissemination of Ph.D thesis through open access in Shodhganga is in place.
Research Capability and Focus Area
The University has a dedicated team of well qualified faculty members, engaged in teaching and research activities. The university is continually updating and improving its facilities with high-quality equipment in every subject area offered by the University. The central Instrumentation Laboratory has been established in the university for the students, research scholars and teachers of the university who are actively engaged in R&D activities in the emerging areas of science, technology & engineering. The CIL is presently having sophisticated instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), UV-VIS-NIR-Spectrophotometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Lyophilizer and FTIR Spectrometer, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer etc. The process for procurement of other sophisticated instruments is in progress. These instruments are generally used to pursue R & D activities by our University Teaching Departments other academic/research Institute/Universities and Industries. The total number of papers published by the faculty in peer reviewed journals of national and international repute since 2009-10 is 1935. Of the total 1219 publications listed on Scopus till date, 755 publications (61%) were listed since 2009-10. Besides this, the faculty members have published 48 text books including 17 edited books and contributed 76 chapters in books since 2009-10. The H-Index of the University has also gone up to 70 at present. Faculty members mobilized and completed projects worth more than Rs.2.5 crores during last 4 years. Eight departments of the university have been awarded the SAP-DRS projects by UGC and the same has been added to their stature and infrastructure. The university has taken lead initiative to form Hisar Knowledge Hub (HKH) wherein all neighbouring institutes located in Hisar (i.e CCSHAU, LLUVAS, NRCE, CIRB, Medical College Agroha etc) are involved under one umbrella to share their resources,
