About Us
A College of Commerce in Tinsukia was thought of in the year 1971 by some members of the then Governing body of Tinsukia College. An Ad-hoc Committee was constituted in 1972 with Late J. N. Bhuyan as president and Sri B. K. Saraswat as secretary. The committee decided to start the college under the name of Tinsukia Commerce College from the session 1972. Late Krishna Pada Dutta Choudhury took the charge of the college as Honorary Principal. In its onward march, commenced with one faculty commerce introduced post graduate studies under Distance Education under Dibrugarh University-in 2002, KKHSO University study centre in 2008, IGNOU Partner Institute in 2009 and B.A in 2011 could be designated as the land marks in the development and expansion process. The college has been Ranked “A” Grade with CGPA of 3.20 by NAAC for its excellence and in 2025 UGC has awarded autonomous status to the College.
The College has a moto of “Vidya Dadaati Vinayam, Vinayaad Yaati Patrattam” which says “Learning leads to humility, Humility begets worthiness”. Our vision is to provide education that leads to generating humility and worthiness among the student fraternity. To educate people to be honest in commerce, trade and industry apart from being educated in general courses.
Currently College offers B. Com program in Finance, Marketing and Banking and Insurance specialisations, apart from these College also offers B.A program in various specialisations like Education, Political Science, Sociology, English, Assamese, Bengal and Hindi. College also offers multiple Masters Programs through distance education.
College has well equipped Library and well-trained Faculties specialised in various fields of teaching, research, industry, trade and commerce and many more.
