About Us

COEP Technological University (COEP Tech): A Legacy of Excellence Since 1854 Founded in 1854 during the British era, COEP Technological University (formerly College of Engineering Pune) is India’s third oldest engineering institution. Originally established as the Poona Engineering Class and Mechanical School, it trained public works officers and became COEP in 1911. With a proud legacy of over 170 years, COEP Tech has produced icons like Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Prof. Thomas Kailath, Dr. Vijay Kelkar, and Mr. Laxman Narasimhan (CEO, Starbucks), among many others.
