About Us
M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology is a self-financing institution established in Bangalore in the year 1962 by the industrialist and philanthropist, Late Dr. M S Ramaiah. It was started with two engineering branches and has evolved by leaps and bounds into a major technical educational centre in the country. Currently, 18 UG and 13 PG programmes are offered to students, which are affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU). MSRIT obtained Academic Autonomy (approved by VTU and UGC) for all its UG and PG Programmes from the year 2007. M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology is continuously ranked among the top 100 Engineering Colleges across India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework, MHRD, Government of India. All the eligible Programmes have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology has been accredited with ‘A+’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). All the departments in the Institute are recognized as research centres from VTU to pursue MSc (Engg.) and PhD. All research departments are active with sponsored projects and about 315 scholars are pursuing PhD. Boeing International Corporation, USA has established its Research Center at MSRIT. MSRIT has a strong Placement and Training Department with a committed team and the placement is more than 90%.MSRIT hosts a fully equipped Sports Department, a large airconditioned Library with over two lakh books with subscription to more than 300 International and National Journals.
Area of Excellence
The institute has Centres of Excellence in Imaging Technology, Advanced Material Technology, Centre for Antennas and Radio Frequency Systems, Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems, and Schneider Centre of Excellence on Building Automation have been initiated with an investment of Rs.10 Crores.
Research Capability and Focus Area
The external project funding has increased to the tune of 12 crores in last 5 years. MSRIT Consistently Ranked among 100 Institutions in Research publications in the Country and Ranked 78 in the country, 578 in the world among the universities as per SCIMAGO (Scopus) Institutions Ranking for the year 2023.
Academic Facilities
MSRIT has state of Art laboratories, and smart classrooms with modern teaching aids to cater to the requirements of the regular curriculum. Each department has Project laboratories and research laboratories to promote research and innovation.
