Spain Conference on Higher Education
The conference was envisaged as a foundational and agenda-setting engagement for structured and sustained university-to-university collaboration between India and Spain. Two days of structured thematic sessions and roundtable discussions involving Rectors/VCs/ Directors and Vice-Rectors from both countries on various themes such as AI and New Ways of Knowledge Transmission, Research, Innovation and Startup Ecosystems in Higher Education, Building Collaborative Health and MedTech Innovation Pathways, Design and Creative Industries, AVGC and Textiles, Spain–India–Latin America Cooperation, Collaboration through Sports, Mobility of Faculty and Students, and Academic Exchanges.

APAIE 2026
India marked a strong presence at the APAIE 2026 Conference and Exhibition, held from 23–27 February 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Hong Kong. Over 20 Indian universities, including NITs, central and state universities, and several private and deemed-to-be universities, participated under the India Pavilion. The Study in India Pavilion, managed by EdCIL (India) Limited, was at the forefront of this representation. The pavilion served as a vibrant hub for academic dialogue, networking, and collaboration, with dedicated spaces for meetings and MoU signings, where several institutions formalised partnerships with global counterparts. Through this initiative, Study in India (SII) effectively showcased the diversity, academic excellence, and innovation of Indian higher education, strengthening India’s presence as a preferred global education destination.

Study in India Edu-Diplomatic Conclave
The Study in India Edu-Diplomatic Conclave was held on 2 March 2026 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, bringing together diplomats, global education stakeholders, and academic leaders to strengthen international academic partnerships. The conclave highlighted India’s reformed, open, and internationalised higher education ecosystem under NEP 2020, with special focus on the Study in India initiative as a flagship programme. The event featured a keynote address by Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, who emphasized India’s growing role as a global hub for higher education and research collaboration. Discussions covered themes such as Indian Knowledge Systems, global campuses in India, skill development, innovation pathways, and international academic partnerships. The conclave served as an important platform for dialogue, cooperation, and strengthening India’s global education outreach.

SPARC National Conclave 2026
The SPARC Conclave at the Rajarhat Research Park of IIT Kharagpur, Kolkata, brings together distinguished international scholars, Indian researchers, faculty, students to celebrate the impact of global research collaboration under the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC). The conclave showcases transformative research outcomes and interdisciplinary partnerships that are advancing the globalization of Indian research. With strong participation from students and early-career researchers, the event highlights the growing international exposure and collaborative opportunities shaping the next generation of innovators. Hosted in a landmark year that also marks the Platinum Jubilee of IIT Kharagpur, the conclave reflects the institute’s continuing leadership in building globally connected research ecosystems.

Study in India Nodal Officer Meet
The Study in India (SII) Programme, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is organizing the Study in India Nodal Officers Workshop – South Chapter on 14th July 2026 at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. The workshop will be chaired by Mr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education, Government of India. The workshop aims to strengthen institutional engagement under the Study in India Programme, discuss recent developments, share best practices in the internationalisation of higher education, deliberate on matters related to international student admissions and the Study in India portal, and discuss the SII Outreach & Promotional Activities Calendar as well as strategies for attracting international students to Indian Higher Educational Institutions. The workshop is intended for Directors/Heads of International Relations, SII Nodal Officers, and Compliance Officers of participating institutions. Each institution may nominate up to two officials. It is open to all Study in India (SII) partnered institutions across India.
