University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. The University is maintained by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. UPES is Accredited grade “A” from the India’s Highest Accreditation body NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). Also it is National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredited for two program of School of Engineering and five programs are under accreditation process. In addition, few of its Management Programs have been accredited by International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). UPES is ISO certified and is also holds Membership of International Association of Universities (IAU) and Association of Indian Universities (AIU). UPES has been awarded the Five Stars QS rating for Employability, Academic Development, Facilities (Infrastructure) and MBA Oil and Gas Management and a four-star rating in Teaching and Overall category. UPES has also been awarded the QS Star I-Gauge E-Lead certificate (E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitization). UPES perfect score of 150/150 is a testament to our exceptional E-Learning methods. The vision of the University is to be an Institution of Global standing for developing professionally competent talent contributing to nation building. The University offers industry aligned graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in the high growth sectors.
