NITTE EDUCATION TRUST Recognized as one of the finest educational institutions in Karnataka, attracting students from all over India and abroad, the Trust has a Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangaluru and two well-developed campuses at Bengaluru. The Trust was started in 1979 and is a pioneer in the field of education. Under the banner of the trust are several institutions which include Nitte University and institutions of higher education like Engineering, Management, Medicine, Dental, Pharmaceuticals, Paramedical, Higher Education and several other schools in Mangalore. NITTE MEENAKSHI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is an Autonomous Institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and Accredited by NBA, NAAC A+ Grade and Recognized by AICTE. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is the Youngest Engineering College in the State to be conferred the prestigious Autonomous Status by VTU / GoK / UGC. NMIT is the only unaided private Engineering College in Karnataka State selected by Government of India for World Bank Funding under TEQIP II. With its focus on collaborative Research and Development in UG and PG programmes NMIT has established seven unique ‘Centers of Excellence’ in the emerging fields of Technology such as Robotics; Nano Materials & MEMS; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Satellite Research; Design Engineering & Process simulation; Aerospace Engineering & IoT and Power Engineering. This has resulted in the filing of patents for innovative products / processes as well as Research Publications in peer-viewed journals and conferences.
Area of Excellence
NMIT has R&D in the multidisciplinary areas of Engineering and Science. Our center for Design and Fabrication of Small Satellites has been established and is approved by ISRO. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (NSTEDB), New Delhi.
Research Capability and Focus Area
NMIT has Seven Multidisciplinary Research Centers which are supported by Industries and Government Organizations like ISRO along with Twelve Recognized Research Centers for Research/Doctoral Studies. There are around 40 funded projects sponsored by State and Central Governments with grants more than Rs.14 crores.
