Under Industry 4.0, the focus is on Design, Development, and Prototyping using modern tools and techniques and there is a genuine need for Design and Manufacturing education. Keeping this in mind, the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram was established in the year 2007 and granted "Institute of National Importance" under the IIIT Act,2014. Its unique curriculum imparts strong fundamental knowledge with design-centric features so that students can handle complex design problems. Apart from course work, students also undertake a Product Design during the third year and a Design Project in their final year as part of course work. IT courses like Problem-solving using C, Data Structures and Algorithms, Machine Learning and Data Analytics, Programming in Python are offered to all branches. A 5-months internship is permitted in an industrial environment to acquire hands-on experience. Our students are not only well placed but also pursuing their higher degrees in reputed foreign universities.
